The author introduces the reader to the history of the development of the Far East by settlers from Central Russia, and talks in detail about the truly gigantic pace of development of the fishing industry in the 1930s. The hero of the novel will face responsible work, serious trials, flood, fire, as well as unexpected troubles in the process of party purge.
