“Diary of a War with Pigs” (1969) became one of the last books of the famous Argentine writer, friend and co-author of J. L. Borges - Adolfo Bioy Casares (1914–1999). This novel, a kind of “Autumn of the Patriarch”, Argentinian, tells (as, indeed, almost all of Casares’ books) about Buenos Aires, but this is a special Buenos Aires: this time, not an enigmatic universe and not an abode of wondrous dreams, but a bizarre and frightening labyrinth of nightmares, ending up where, you risk everything - especially if you are over 30 years old.
