The book is a collection of works by an outstanding German sociologist. Max Weber's articles and speeches on political problems, despite their relevance, had never been published in Russia before and were known to a narrow circle of specialists. This collection is intended to fill this gap. “Our generation is not destined to see whether the struggle we are waging will bear fruit; whether posterity recognizes us as their ancestors. If we cannot escape the curse that we face—being born after a politically great era—then we must be able to become something else: the forerunners of an even greater one. Will this be our place in history? I don’t know and I’ll just say: the right of young people is to defend themselves and their ideals. And it is not years that turn a person into an old man: he is young as long as he is able to perceive the world with those great passions that nature has invested in us.” Max Weber
