Ilya Reiderman is one of the last from the ship of great Russian poetry, continuing the traditions of the Golden and Silver Ages. He calls himself a non-laureate poet: he preferred a hectic life in the “province by the sea” and concentrated work of thought and soul to flickering in the literary circles of the capital. And he believes that otherwise he could not have written many of his poems. The possible gain is for the future reader, but the author himself, “plunging into the unknown”, is somewhat of a loser. His early works were sympathetically listened to by Pavel Antokolsky, Anna Akhmatova, Anastasia Tsvetaeva, Andrei Sergeev, but now the publishers, in search of the author of the preface to the book of the selected book, prepared for the 80th anniversary of the poet, decided to give as many as three small reviews - Writer, Literary Scholar, Philosopher. The book ends with a large “interview with himself,” in which those interested will find information about the poet’s creative position and path. Previously, a bottle was thrown into the sea from a shipwrecked ship. Now the Book plays this role. The author of this book, a philologist and journalist, philosopher and music critic, in his youth, instead of getting carried away by something avant-garde, realized that his job was to continue the tradition. His book contains many poems with epigraphs, especially from his beloved Mandelstam. The epigraph is a theme, and the poem is a variation.
