The medieval knightly order of the Templars (templars) ceased to exist at the beginning of the 14th century. The leaders of the order, accused of heresy and witchcraft, ended their lives at the stake. If only for this reason, the Templars are to this day an object of intense interest both from historians and lovers of the “secret sciences” who are eager to gain the mystical knowledge of the templars. What seems doubly interesting is the fact that at the beginning of the 20th century, the Order of the New Templars arose in Austria, which was founded by a mystic who called himself Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels. It was he who became the founder of such an occult-political movement as Ariosophy. The new Templars propagated racist ideas coupled with strange religious dogmas. According to some historians, it was the new Templars who had a significant influence on the formation of the views of Adolf Hitler. The activities of the Order of the New Templars have always been shrouded in secrecy, which has given rise to an incredible amount of fiction and speculation. Historian Andrei Vasilchenko is trying to understand the intricacies of history and “separate the wheat from the chaff.” Using numerous documents and foreign publications inaccessible to the domestic reader, he sheds light on the history of one of the most mysterious organizations of the 20th century - the Order of the New Templars.
