The seventeenth century turned out to be a stormy century in the history of England. In 1649, Cromwell's rebels publicly cut off Charles I's head, and in 1660, the monarch's son, Charles II, ascended the throne. To put an end to the cycle of reprisals, a law was passed granting forgiveness to all participants in the civil war. Everyone except those who signed the death warrant for the king. These people are pursued, caught and brutally executed. Two of them, loyal supporters of Cromwell, Colonels Edward Whalley and William Goff, flee to the very ends of the world to save their lives. But even there they cannot hide from the shrewd Richard Nayler, an official of the Privy Council who has personal scores to settle with the regicides. For the first time in Russian!
