The book is dedicated to the life and work of Major General Mikhail Gordeevich Drozdovsky (1881–1919). The book presents in detail the complex process of the formation of Russian officers, their baptism of fire during the Japanese War and on the fronts of the First World War. The author describes in detail the collapse of the Romanian Front in 1917 - early 191 and the actions of M. G. Drozdovsky to restore the first combat-ready units of the White Army, as well as to recreate its spirit. Drozdovsky did not have to fight for long: wounded, he died on January 1, 1919. But these and subsequent actions allowed the White Army to adequately end the three-year Civil War and go into exile with their heads held high. "Glory to the vanquished!" - with these words ends one of the fragments of the book of White Guard memoirs. The book is equipped with extensive and first-published appendices and is part of a book series published by the Tsentrpoligraf publishing house under the general title “Forgotten and Unknown Russia.” Like the entire series, it is intended for a wide range of readers, those interested in Russian history, as well as government and socio-political figures, scientists involved in the formation of new spiritual values of a resurgent Russia.
