In a book research of reason is unfolded in his attitude toward the categories of нарратива, event and action, plot of a story and plot, хронотопа and theme, hero and personage. System determination of reason is set forth as basic unit of narrative language of literature. The semiotic analysis of reason is conducted in the aspects of his semantics, синтактики and прагматики and the probabilistic model of functioning of reason is worked out in artistic narration. Relations are studied between the invariant value of reason and his variant semantics. Connections are investigational between semantics of reason and features of his compatibility in нарративе. The concepts of with a plot sense and intensions of reason, important for understanding of his role in fiction, are set forth. Principles of analytical description of reason are exposed and his analysis is conducted in composition an integral narrative row (reason meeting is in narrative work of Pushkin). The obtained data, taking into account their variant and probabilistic descriptions, are typology generalized and presented as the virtual sign whole reason of meeting, taken in the system of his eventful realization within the framework of Pushkin artistic prose.
