The Seventy-Eight Steps of Wisdom was originally published in two parts, in 1980 and 1983. Since then, the book has been constantly reprinted. When it first saw the light, it was very different from other Tarot books. It was not a list of formulas for predicting the future, occult diagrams or vague references. The focus was on the interpretation of cards - not just for prediction, but rather as a way of knowing oneself and, moreover, the spiritual wonders of life.

When I wrote it, I tried to keep potential readers in mind all the time. In my view, these were both those who were well acquainted with spiritual and psychological ideas, and those who knew absolutely nothing about them, but on occasion they could easily comprehend and adapt them to their lives. My main task was to write so that the former would not get bored, and the latter would not get confused.
