At the heart of Algerd Bakharevich's novel "The Cursed Guests of the Capital" is a rather colorful and mysterious character named Nazar Minus, whose life began in Soviet society and continued in perestroika and post-Soviet times. He personifies people brought up in cruelty, laxity, insecurity, immorality, cowardice of the past century, he is the face of this era, he absorbed the most unattractive mental qualities. What is not a hero of our time? And the mind of this outwardly inconspicuous, but internally very extraordinary person produced the idea of a theater where the everyday, real, was replaced by the fictional, non-existent, and vice versa. The actors were the most ordinary people, and the performance was called, at first glance, ordinary life events (a gathering of nationalists, a rock concert for teenagers, a local beauty contest or just another meeting of network marketing enthusiasts). But there, on the other side of the invisible transparent wall, the chosen, ordained spectators under the all-powerful leadership of Nazar Minus could understand how absurd the thoughts, actions, and behavior of people in everyday life really look.
