Eusebius of Caesarea (Pamphilus) (about 260 - 339) was born in Palestine, educated in the schools of Jerusalem and Antioch. He studied the works of Plato, Philo of Alexandria, was especially susceptible to the teachings of Origen.
Despite the controversy of his dogmatic views, Eusebius of Caesarea is rightfully considered the father of church history.
His most famous work "Church History" is devoted to the events of the Christian world until 324, in which modern numerous archival documents were used.
Adjacent to it is the famous panegyric "Four Books of Eusebius Pamphilus, Bishop of Caesarea of Palestine on the life of Blessed Basileus Constantine", as well as a small work on the history of the martyrs: "The Book of the Palestinian Martyrs".
