The third volume of The History of the British Navy contains descriptions of events at sea during the Third Anglo-Dutch War of 1672-1674 and the Dutch and English war against France in 1689-1697.
When creating the cover, a fragment of a painting by the English artist John Cleveley Sr. was used.
