The third volume of the 12-volume Synodal edition of the Complete Works of St. John Chrysostom, which was published in the Russian Empire from 1895 to 1906. is a text dealing with spiritual and religious issues. John Chrysostom (347-407) is known as the greatest Christian thinker, one of the three Doctors of the Church (along with Basil the Great and Gregory the Theologian), co-founder of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, a man whose faith was stronger than torment and death.
