The Holy Righteous John of Kronstadt (1829–1908) is one of the most significant saints of Russia in recent times. During his earthly ministry, it was enough to write a letter to Fr. John or send a telegram so that he prays, and a miracle of healing takes place. And now, after his blessed death, many miracles continue to be performed. The great gift was the reward of Fr. John for his exploits - prayerful labors, fasting and selfless deeds of love for God and neighbor. Despite his extraordinary busyness, the righteous Father John found time to keep a spiritual diary, writing down his daily thoughts that came to him during prayer. The main idea of Father John's creation "Conversations on the Beatitudes of the Gospels" is the need for true ardent faith in God and life by faith, in an unceasing struggle with "passions and lusts", devotion to faith and the Orthodox Church, as the only saving one.
