Його аналіз історичної думки, що формувалася під впливом придворних хроністів, дозволяє читачеві глибше зрозуміти, як формувалися уявлення про владу та образ державця в той час. Книга також прекрасно ілюструє боротьбу між придворними угрупуваннями за вплив, що надає тексту динаміки та актуальності. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має незначні недоліки, загальна якість видання вражає. Це видання стане безцінним ресурсом для істориків, культурологів і всіх, хто прагне дізнатися більше про цю захоплюючу епоху.
