For more than thirty years of touring life, Igor Guberman has visited different cities and countries. During his travels, he not only performed reading his poems, but also simultaneously immersed himself in the atmosphere of the places where his concert activities took him. Being a sensitive observer, he discovered there little-known traces and facts from the lives of remarkable writers and other famous people, whose names were forever entrenched in world history and culture. The notes he kept also contain numerous descriptions of the dramatic destinies of the Russian intelligentsia, which reflected the entire tragic history of Russia in the twentieth century. “Prose about short journeys” is a book that grew out of such notes, a fascinating book full of names and events.
