This is the first biography of our national hero, Marshal G. K. Zhukov, written by a prominent Soviet historian, Professor N. N. Yakovlev, written at the level of modern knowledge about the Great Patriotic War. The book introduces the hero, the great commander, the savior of the Fatherland into the inner world; it uses new archival materials. The author included an abridged version of the book in his three-volume collection of selected works that were published in the 88-90s. Before the reader is a revised and significantly expanded book.
