1888 East London is a city within a city. A place of shadows and light; a place where thieves and whores coexist with dreamers; where children play on cobblestone streets during the day and a killer stalks them at night; where bright hopes collide with dark reality. Here, under the whispering waves of the Thames, Fiona Finnegan, a tea factory worker, dreams of one day opening her own shop with Joe Bristow, the son of a market trader whom she has known and loved since childhood. Driven by faith in each other, Fiona and Joe wage a daily battle with life, saving on everything and enduring hardships; and all in the name of making their dreams come true. But Fiona’s normal life is shattered when the actions of a dark and cruel man take away from her almost everything and everyone she loved and who served as her support. Fearing for her life, Fiona is forced to flee London to New York. There, through tenacity and indomitable spirit, she rises from the owner of a modest West Side store to the owner of a thriving tea company. But the ghosts of her past haunt her, and to deal with them, Fiona returns to London. A mortal battle with her past becomes the key to her future. For the first time in Russian!
