Harry Harrison (1925–2012) was an American science fiction writer, artist, and illustrator. Popularity came to him from his very first novels, which later developed into cycles: “The Indomitable Planet” (1960) and “The Stainless Steel Rat” (1961). He collaborated with many famous artists, writers, and popularizers of science, for example, Wally Wood, Jim Barnes, Gordon Dixon, Robert Sheckley, Marvin Minsky. “Lifeboat.” The Albenaret interstellar liner is in distress. A handful of survivors are trapped in a lifeboat. The hope for salvation is illusory, besides, people and aliens have to coexist in a cramped space, and each has their own ideas about what to do in a crisis situation. “Plague from Space.” A research spaceship returning from Jupiter brought to Earth a deadly disease from which there seems to be no escape. Anarchy, panic, despair of the population, stupidity and corruption of politicians - crisis events are growing like a snowball. Only a few brave souls will stand up for humanity...
