Vladimir Galaktionovich Korolenko (1853–1921) - Russian writer, publicist, public figure, honorary academician of the St. Petersburg and Russian Academy of Sciences. A convinced truth-seeker and defender of the persecuted, Korolenko valued in people dissatisfaction with life, constant movement, even if the goal is not fully realized. Almost all of his stories are based on what the writer himself experienced or saw, and at their center is a rebellious person. “The Tale of Flora, Agrippa and Menachem, son of Yehuda” was written in 1886 and then published in Severny Vestnik, No. 10. The story is polemically directed against Tolstoy’s preaching of non-resistance to evil through violence.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program.
