The book “Hesychasm for Contemporaries” sets out the sublime doctrine of the Salvation of the soul – hesychasm or contemplative life. The first part of the book presents the experience of the holy hesychast fathers on the works of St. Callista Angelicuda, St. Dionysius the Areopagite and St. Maximus the Confessor, and also gives the foundations of hesychasm and the essence of practical contemplation. The second part conveys the experience of modern assimilation of hesychasm in brief instructions, elevating the mind to sacred silence in Christ.
Monk Simeon of Athos (hieromonk Simon the Bloodless) began his monastic journey in the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius under the care of the Lavra elder - Archimandrite Kirill (Pavlov). For a long time he labored in the Caucasus mountains, in Abkhazia. Currently lives in one of the monasteries of Holy Mount Athos. He took the pseudonym in memory of his father, the monk Simeon, who died on Mount Athos.
