Ancient Rome was famous for its various spectacles. "Meal'n'Real!" - this was the slogan of Roman citizens, both plebeians and aristocrats, and gladiator fights became one of the main entertainments. Death was elevated to the level of a high art; the blood that generously sprinkled the arena served as a spicy seasoning for dull everyday life. It was in this arena that a warrior maiden named Sagaris, who grew up in the Black Sea steppe and was captured, was forced to fight on an equal basis with male gladiators. In the complex fate of Sagaris, battles with Roman legionnaires, slavery, a slave uprising, betrayal, intrigue, deceit and, finally, love are closely intertwined. This book is complemented by another novel by Vitaly Gladky - “The Path to the Throne”, where the fate of the main character, a Scythian named Savmak , is also connected with the arena, but not the gladiatorial arena, but with the hippodrome arena. The extraordinary skill of a horseman, accidentally demonstrated at the hippodrome in the capital of the Bosporan kingdom, will force the fate of Savmak to change dramatically.
