Mikhail Demin, real name Georgy Evgenievich Trifonov (1926–1984), is a Russian writer, the son of a major Soviet military leader, and cousin of the writer Yuri Trifonov. In 1937, he lost his father, became a vagrant, and served in the army during World War II after a two-year prison sentence; After the war, due to the threat of re-arrest, he hid in the criminal underground. In 1947, he was arrested and sentenced to six years in the Siberian camps, followed by three years of exile. After his release, he began publishing first in the Siberian, then in the central press, and published four collections of poetry and a book of prose. In 1968 he went to Paris and became the first defector writer. In the West, he published the autobiographical trilogy “Blatnoy”, “Taiga Tramp”, “Red Devil”. Much has been written about political prisoners, but not about criminals.

Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться історією, соціальними питаннями та людськими долями, адже вона відкриває новий погляд на життя карних злочинців та їхні переживання.
