A poetic study of the Second Book of Kings of the Old Testament, using the example of King David, shows the dialectical combination of higher spiritual motives and the egoistic nature of man. The ironic and at times sarcastic presentation of the original source reflects the discrepancy between the Old Testament and modern ideas about morality and ethics, and the shift in time layers reflects the correlation of these norms with our reality.
