Continuation of the novel "The Raven and the Bear" about the pagan kingdom of Thuringia, preserved in an alternative version of the development of historical events. This time the action takes place not so much in Thuringia itself, but among its neighbors - the Franks, Saracens, Lombards, as well as in Britain, torn between Christian and pagan rulers. Again wars, intrigues of kings and intrigues of queens, black magic and ancient cults, as well as an alien from the past behind whom looms the ominous and majestic shadow of an Empire that has perished for centuries.
