Книга "За слідом звіра" вразила мене своєю напругою та глибиною персонажів. Ветеран поліції Варрон Рук, з його досвідом та важким минулим, стає ідеальним наставником для молодого сержанта Майка Тодоровскі, який прагне довести свою відданість службі. Взаємодія між цими двома персонажами є однією з найсильніших частин книги, адже вона показує, як досвід та молодість можуть взаємодіяти, щоб досягти спільної мети. Сюжет розвивається динамічно, а розслідування вбивства, яке відбувається під час повного супутника, додає елемент таємниці та тривоги. Книга піднімає важливі питання про психічні відхилення та їх вплив на особистість злочинця, що робить її не лише захоплюючою, але й глибокою. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які незначно впливають на загальне враження, я все ж рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто любить детективи та напружені сюжети. Вона залишає відчуття, що справжня боротьба відбувається не лише з зовнішніми ворогами, але й з власними страхами та сумнівами.
