Бак майстерно описує життя чотирьох китайсько-американських братів і сестер, які, під впливом батька, вирішують повернутися до Китаю. Ця подорож стає не лише фізичним переміщенням, а й глибоким емоційним досвідом, коли герої намагаються знайти своє місце в культурі, яка, здавалося б, є їхньою, але водночас такою чужою. Автор вміло передає складнощі адаптації, внутрішні конфлікти та відкриття, які чекають на героїв на новій батьківщині. Хоча переклад тексту місцями може бути недосконалим, це не заважає загальному враженню від книги. Я рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться темами ідентичності, культурних відмінностей та еміграції.
