Leonid Vladimirovich Shebarshin - a brilliant intelligence professional, a deep analyst and a very honest and decent person - was the last head of the First Main Directorate of the KGB of the USSR. He preserved and protected his agents, analyzed information in conditions when his leaders were either agents of influence, or traitors, or simply fools. General Shebarshin said: “My soul belongs to intelligence.” But Leonid Vladimirovich had another passion. He was a wonderful wit, the author of many aphorisms. As a result, there were enough of them for a whole book.
