“When the milk is not boiling on the stove...” is a metaphorical rendering of the hero’s state of mind, telling in poetic form about the things that are most important to him: love, society, war, the laws of the universe, creativity. He can be harsh and cynical, debunking the embittered and an imperfect world, the unnaturalness of human relationships, condemning the senseless war. Or maybe he is gentle and patient towards a woman who humiliates with unrequited love and at the same time gives unbridled passion. But, immersing himself in creativity, he first of all wants to understand himself, so that, every time he makes a life choice, he remains honest with himself.
