Mr. Au is well known to the children of Finland. Finnish writer Hannu Mäkelä writes books about him. They come out in batches because Au’s adventures are endless, and children never lose interest in them. One of the stories about this funny and kind loser was retold in Russian by Eduard Uspensky. And I must say that he did it so wonderfully that sometimes it seems that it was he who invented this gentleman, because this fairy-tale character surprisingly complements the world of the writer’s heroes. That is why Mr. Au was invited to the “General Meeting of Heroes” by Eduard Uspensky.
