Книга "Літописець" вражає своєю глибиною і емоційною наповненість. Автор майстерно переплітає три різні епохи та історії, показуючи, як час і обставини можуть впливати на людські долі. Юна піаністка Марія та студент Франц, які закохані в один одного, стають символом кохання, яке не підлягає знищенню, навіть у найскрутніші часи. Друга частина, що розповідає про Аврору та Михайла, додає новий вимір до теми любові та відновлення, показуючи, як навіть після втрат можна знайти щастя.
