When police find two skeletons locked in a bony embrace deep in the mud off the Manhattan shoreline, Natural History Museum curator Margo Green is called in to aid in the investigation. Автор майстерно поєднує елементи трилера з науковою фантастикою, створюючи напружену атмосферу, яка тримає в напрузі до останньої сторінки. Історія про куратора музею Марго Грін, яка опиняється в центрі розслідування загадкових скелетів, захоплює своєю динамікою та глибокими персонажами. Взаємодія між Марго, лейтенантом Д'Агостою та агентом ФБР Пендергастом додає сюжету ще більше інтриги та напруги.
