Клаус Шарф майстерно досліджує особистість Катерини II, її освіту та вплив німецької культури на її правління. Автор детально аналізує період, коли імператриця прагнула забезпечити стабільність у Європі, що робить цю книгу не лише історичним нарисом, а й глибоким психологічним портретом жінки, яка стала однією з найвпливовіших правительок свого часу. Хоча переклад тексту в цілому якісний, є деякі недоліки, пов'язані з використанням штучного інтелекту, але це не знижує загальної цінності книги.
