So Yaroslav Feofilov decided to keep up with the trend and, having prepared well, went to the Smolensk region for the historical festival “Rurik’s Calling”. Imagine the guy’s surprise when he, with all his new-made weapons and equipment, found himself in the real 9th century, in the “urban-type village” of Gnezdovo. Unsanitary conditions and general indifference reign here, the ancestors don’t give a damn about any advice from the visiting smart guy Yaroslav, and strive kill him and rob him, or at least just rob him. And even the threat of the capture of Gnezdovo by a band of Vikings led by King Hroerik is not able to unite the population. Feofilov will have to save his ancestors from invasion and enslavement at his own expense.

Книга "Перший князь Русі" вражає своєю оригінальністю та захоплюючим сюжетом. Ярослав Феофілов, головний герой, стає справжнім символом сучасної молоді, яка прагне зрозуміти своє коріння та історію. Автор вдало поєднує елементи фантастики та історії, дозволяючи читачеві зануритися в атмосферу IX століття, де кожен крок може стати вирішальним. Описані події на фестивалі "Покликання Рюрика" та подальші пригоди Феофілова в Гнєздово настільки захоплюють, що важко відірватися від книги. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має незначні недоліки, це не зменшує загального враження від читання. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться історією, пригодами та пошуками власної ідентичності!
