“Suvorov and the Station Warden” is a work by the Russian poet, prose writer and playwright P. P. Ershov (1815–1869).*** This dramatic anecdote in two parts was written in 1835. The play plays out a folk anecdote about ordinary Russian people who, by chance, received the great Russian military leader, Count Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, in their village and about the amazing events that followed this. Ershov’s pen also includes the following works: “The Little Humpbacked Horse,” “Poems,” “Autumn Evenings.”
