Based on the professional biographies of little-known employees of Polish and German intelligence services, the book attempts to present a coherent account of individual episodes of their intelligence confrontation in the 1920s and 1930s. For the first time, the Russian-speaking reader will become familiar with the progress and consequences of the largest operations of the German, Polish and Soviet intelligence services in Königsberg, Danzig, Berlin, The Hague, and will witness the dramatic fates of such “intelligence aces” as Major Jan Zhichon, Captain 2nd Rank Richard Protze, Captain Nezbrzycki , will plunge into the mysterious and brutal atmosphere of international espionage in pre-war Europe. Of particular interest to the Russian reader will be the history of the confrontation between Polish and Soviet intelligence services, associated with such names as General Zhimierski (Role), Lieutenant Colonel Lepyazh, Major Demkowski, Tadeusz Kobylanski and many others.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
