Based on the professional biographies of little-known employees of Polish and German intelligence services, the book attempts to present a coherent account of individual episodes of their intelligence confrontation in the 1920s and 1930s. For the first time, the Russian-speaking reader will become familiar with the progress and consequences of the largest operations of the German, Polish and Soviet intelligence services in Königsberg, Danzig, Berlin, The Hague, and will witness the dramatic fates of such “intelligence aces” as Major Jan Zhichon, Captain 2nd Rank Richard Protze, Captain Nezbrzycki , will plunge into the mysterious and brutal atmosphere of international espionage in pre-war Europe.
