The Red Army met the Great Patriotic War without self-propelled artillery units in service. But already at the end of July 1941, the first ZIS-30 self-propelled guns began to arrive in units, of which, however, only 100 were produced. At the end of 1942, the Red Army received the first assault self-propelled guns - SU-122, and in 1943 the light self-propelled gun SU-76 began to arrive in units. In total, more than 25,000 self-propelled artillery units fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, covering themselves with unfading glory. The heroes of the new book of the project “I Remember” - veteran self-propelled guns - talk about the difficult service of self-propelled guns.
