A deadly virus has swept the planet, forcing all people to observe regimes and isolation. As a result of natural mutation, a race of Others arises, living underground. Which periodically attack people's apartments at night. The main character is a boy Ivan, 12 years old, living with his father. The virus took his mother away from him, forcing him to grow up. One day, their apartment is attacked by the Other, which attracts the attention of supervisory authorities. The monotonous life locked up is diluted with short walks in the yard, under the supervision of the Russian Guard. At one of them, Ivan meets a new girl, Tanya. Suddenly the father goes missing. The supervisors want to transfer the boy to a boarding school, but Tatyana comes to the rescue and saves Ivan. Together, they go in search of their missing father, which leads them to the lands of the Others.
