The autobiographical novel by the famous Soviet writer Mikhail Nikolaevich Alekseev (1918-2007) vividly and talentedly tells about the unforgettable time of childhood, which took place against the backdrop of the life of the Russian village and coincided with the tragic years of Stalinist collectivization.
