The detective story “The Six-Winged Seraphim” was written by Marina Anatolyevna Alekseeva in 1991 together with colleague Alexander Gorkin and was published in the magazine “Police” in the fall of 1992. The story was signed by the pseudonym of Alexander Marinin, compiled from the names of the authors.

Together with her colleague Alexander Gorkin, Marina Anatolyevna ran the “Security School” column in the “Police” magazine. The materials in the column were of a parody, humorous nature, but in reality they were advice on how to protect yourself from one or another type of crime. “There was the stupid Shurochka Marinina and the old detective Sasha, who always came to her hungry, and she fed him dinner and complained that she was afraid to go out in the evening, afraid to buy a car, afraid to go on vacation. And he, lying on the sofa, taught her how to behave so that trouble would not happen.” They also used the pseudonym “Alexandra Marinina” when writing materials for the newspaper “Prolog” (essays on modern crime in Russia), the newspaper “Express” (humorous stories about what you must do in order to be sure to become a victim of a crime - a kind of security school on the contrary). The first book was “born” in 1991 and, as usual, completely by accident. Alexander Gorkin offered to co-author a popular science book about drugs commissioned by Yurizdat. Marina Anatolyevna found this uninteresting (“how many scientific works have already been done!”), and she suggested writing in the detective genre. In 19 days (“with laughter and squealing”) the book “The Six-Winged Seraphim” was written. The difficult times of 1991 did not allow the story to be published at that time. It was published in 1992 in the magazine “Police”. This was the first book signed with the pseudonym “Alexandra Marinina”....In January 1995, EKSMO publishing house approached Marinina with a proposal to publish her works in the “Black Cat” series. The first book published by EKSMO appeared in April 1995. It was called “The Reluctant Killer,” and the stories “The Six-Winged Seraphim” and “The Reluctant Killer” were published in it. After this book, the rights to the story “The Six-Winged Seraphim” were not transferred to anyone, and the author is categorically against its further publication.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
