Книга "Куди веде Нептун" - це не просто оповідь про дослідження півострова Таймир, а справжня подорож у часі, яка переносить читача в епоху великих відкриттів. Автор майстерно описує події XVIII століття, коли сміливі мореплавці, такі як лейтенант Прончищев, вирушали в небезпечні експедиції, щоб дослідити невідомі території. Пам'ятник червоному морському бую, що стоїть на березі річки Хатанга, стає символом пам'яті про тих, хто ризикував своїм життям заради науки та відкриттів. Однак, незважаючи на захоплюючий сюжет, слід зазначити, що якість перекладу іноді залишає бажати кращого. Деякі фрази звучать незграбно, а окремі слова можуть бути не зовсім коректно переведені.
