G. V. Glushko. born in 1926 in a Ukrainian village. At the age of 14 he became an orphan and was raised on a collective farm. In 1941, the village was occupied by Germany, in 1942 he was taken to forced labor in a Polish prisoner of war camp, worked as an Ostarbeiter, fell ill and was sold to a Polish Bauer. At the beginning of 1945 he was liberated by the Soviet army and renamed. Participated in the assault on Poznan and Berlin. After demobilization, from 1950 he worked on the construction of many hydroelectric power stations. Honorary power engineer of the USSR.
