The action of this story by the famous Polish writer Z. Nenacki takes place in our days, but it is closely connected with the events of the Second World War. Fleeing from the Soviet Army, the fascist landowner hid looted works of art on Polish territory. The bandits, who learned about this, are trying to take them out. A young journalist goes in search of treasures, who wants to return to the people what the Nazis stole. He ends up on the Island of Outlaws, where he experiences many unexpected and dangerous adventures before reaching his goal.
