Zbigniew Tomasz Nowicki (1929–1994) is a prose writer and playwright, one of the most popular authors in Poland. His books, primarily intended for young readers, were published in millions of copies. Numerous films and television series were staged based on Z. Nenatsky’s scripts. However, in 1980 he wrote a book that caused a big scandal in the Polish press. A universally recognized master writing for young people, he released a novel in which he created a new unusual hero: a certain Don Juan, who feels guilty for dozens of carefree flirtations and redeems her by restoring faith in love, trying to teach love to unfortunate women who have lost faith to be able to survive it. “The Seducer” was a huge success in Poland, it was republished many times, but the entire press was divided into publications that either praised or scolded this book, which surprisingly accurately raised the question of the place of sexuality in our lives, the responsibility of the writer who creates images of heroes with the power of his imagination who become role models for real people, which sometimes has a far from beneficial effect on their lives. The novel is published in Russian for the first time.
