The first volume of this collected works of I. S. Shmelev (1871–1950) is devoted mainly to the pre-revolutionary work of the writer. It included the stories “The Man from the Restaurant”, “Rosstani”, “The Inexhaustible Chalice”, short stories, as well as the first thing written by Shmelev in exile - the epic “Sun of the Dead”.
