The collection includes the most famous works of Sigmund Freud, an outstanding Austrian scientist, founder of the theory of psychoanalysis, who revolutionized psychiatry, psychology, philosophy, literature - and culture as a whole. In the works “Psychology of the masses and analysis of the human “I”” and “The Future of an Illusion” outlines Freud’s views as a social theorist: large-scale problems of cultural transformation based on the harmonious relationship between rational-scientific and spiritual-religious principles; the results of a study of the collective psychology of the masses, who always feel the need for a leader and at the same time fear of him. In the essays “On Narcissism”, “The Sacrament of Virginity”, “Towards a Theory of Sexual Desire”, Freud affirms the central role of sexuality in the psychoanalytic concept of man and reveals the main source of emotional energy - libido - as the foundation of the character, behavior and actions of people, as the leading motive of their activities.
