In 1948, a son was born to a Prague journalist named Ashkenazi. And seven years later, in the same place, in Prague, the book “Children’s Sketches” was published, and this was also a birth - the writer Ludwik Ashkenazy entered Czech literature. “Children’s Sketches” is not just a father’s diary, a record of observations about his growing son, a collection of his touching sayings and funny actions. The book documents the process of transforming real events into a fact of art, into literature.
