Vera Wang, a lonely old woman, lives above her tea shop in the center of Chinatown. Even though she lives alone, she is not at all lonely. For her, there is no more pleasant activity than sipping oolong and following her son’s life on the Internet.
One morning Vera goes downstairs and a curious sight opens up to her: a dead man lies in the middle of her shop. In his hand is a flash drive. Vera, calling the police, snatches the flash drive from the dead man’s hand. For what? Because she is sure that the police are unlikely to compare in solving a crime with a suspicious Chinese woman who has a lot of free time. Vera knows that the killer will return for the flash drive. All she can do is watch the customers and look out for the criminal among them.
Unexpectedly, Vera makes friends with the customers and begins to worry about each of them. But will she eventually have to turn over one of her newly acquired chickens to the police?
