Maddie Chen has attended countless weddings, but she had no idea how her own would turn out. To ensure that mom and aunts enjoy the holiday as much as the rest of the guests, they find the perfect compromise - a Chinese-Indonesian family wedding planning company just like theirs.

At first, Maddie doubts the choice, but quickly finds a common language with wedding photographer Stafani, who reminds Maddie of herself, right down to her unfortunate mangled name. However, later, when Maddie witnesses a suspicious conversation, she realizes that this is where their similarities end.

Horrified, she cannot believe that Stafani and her family are not at all who they say they are.
